Pulled the steering off of my Single tire M to remove the radiator. When I replaced the steering system I now find the steering is near imposible to turn. When I took out the radiator I also removed the steering collum to repace a broken bolt. Never had it off before. Is their something Iam missing doing when I put it back? Any help would be appreciated.

on the narrow fronts, there are 4 bolts that hold the front lower casting on. one has a raised "crown top" the top is the stop for the steering to keep the front end from spinning all the way around. could be that bolt is in the wrong spot. did you have the bolster apart? bottom bolster bearing could be bad too.

Glen, Never had the bolster apart. Only thing I did their was to remove the steering shaft that run thru the radiator. Then pulled out the radiator. Replaced the radiator and screwed the shaft back thru the bolster.

pull the top cover off the bolster, there are about 6 bolts in kind of a circle that hold it on and take a look in there you will see the worm gear on the steering shaft and the sector gear on the top of the bolster shaft. jack up the front of the tractor a little bit to take the weight off the front tire and turn the wheel. if its still hard, remove the pipe plug and spin the steering shaft back out and check the bearing on the end. could be the shaft didnt go in all the way and the cap on the end is binding on it too. raise the front tire just off the ground and see if it turns easy with your hand with the shaft out. if it does, then something is binding the steering shaft.
