I have a Super A when you put it in gear and start off the left rear wheel (sitting on tractor)pops like something is worn out. It continues as long as you are going very slow. I would like suggestions on what to check and what is involved to repair. Where do I get parts to repair? ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS IN ADVANCE. I CHECKED THE LUG BOLT ALL ARE TIGHT WHERE WOULD YOU GO NEXT?

Does it have rear wheel weights? If so the wheel weights may just need to be tightened to the hub. I had this happen on my A a while back. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Jack that side of the tractor up and spin the tire by hand. Could be axle end play, there is a "C" ring to stop that. It could be the brake hub (drum), there is a set screw to stop that. It could be a bad bearing, you'll need your wallet to stop that one. Could be other things also, you'll need to inspect it to find out for sure. Good luck. Dave

My experence with lock washers on farm tractor axel bolts and wheel rim bolts is that the lock washers will break and fall out leaving a space and a loose bolt. I don't use them. Make sure threads have no rust, use a cheater pipe on your wrence, and tighten bolts super tight. Any other opinons? Armand

Check the bolts that hold the rim to the centers too.

Leave all lockwashers out of the system, they break in half making instant loose and do not prevent loosening well at all even if they don't break. Flat heavy washers, yes with: Locktite thread lock yes. Nyloc nuts (used once) yes. Castle Nuts and cotter pins yes. JimN
