Hello,
I need help with what weight oil the Tranny in my 1963 International tractor uses . Also does the PTO unit use the same? I have a book on it that states how much each on takes but not the weight for either one.
Thanks
Richard

I have a 300u that I believe is a 1955 model. I am of the impression they only made them in 1955 and 1956. Is my info wrong? where did you find the 1963?

Thanks Jimer
I was under the impression that it was a 1963 .
The tractor number is 25863 SJ . My book tells me what the SJ means. I took for granted that the last 2 numbers of the serial was the year, as with some boat motors. Looks like I was WRONG.
Thanks everyone for all Your Help !!!
Richard

Jimer, you are correct. 55 and 56 was it. They did make the rowcrop version in 54 as well.

Is it a 140 or a bigger tractor. Not much info there. If it is a 140 it uses 90 weight or heavier. If it is something else it will probably need Hy-Tran or equivalent, the same goes for the PTO.

Hello again ,
Its a 300 U , with Torque Amplifier.
The trans takes 28 quarts and the independent PTO takes 2quarts.
Thanks
Richard

Since it has the Torque Amplifier, then you need to use a good grade of hydraulic oil such as Hi-Trans from IH. The same with the live pto. As the other guy suggested, the 300's weren't made in '63
