To drop the belly pump on a H the connector is allready out from before I bought my beater H. I found an old delete cover in Dads attic parts storage and thought about taking it out is there much to do to drop if besides pulling the bolts and linkages etc off?

When I took my H belly pump out last fall, I bought four lengths of threaded rod at the hardware, and four nuts and washers (got this idea from one of the IH Board members). I replaced each pump mounting bolts, one at a time with the threaded rod,nut and washer. Then lowered the pump by turning each nut a short distance at a time. Slow but it worked well, for someone like me who was working on it alone.

I pulled mine out last year. The other posts explain how. I just wanted to add that it is very heavy. I would recommend having someone else there to help you. We had a manual and made T-handled rods like the book showed to lower it. It was all my dad and I wanted.

Remove:

drive dog
outlets on both sides
control arm
fill cap
bolts

drop it out with whatever method you choose: floor jack/2x4 (my fave), or all thread in the bolt holes, etc...

If you have removed the coupler drive from transmission to pump, all you need to do is remove plumbing from the side of tractor that is screwed into the pump and the cap. place a jack and some boards( I suggest having help but can be done by yourself) Then remove the bolts from the bottom eithe 4 or 6 bolts I can't remember. A motorcycle jack would probably work better than a floor jack.
