Hey Bob, bring the bean pot. I can survive the depression now. Went to the garden and picked a nice head of cabbage, dug a few new taters, picked some green beans, pulled some onions, picked a few bannana peppers, and built the fire. Corn ain't ready yet. Chow will be ready around 6 EST. Come on and eat boy's.

That would be a pretty expensive supper by the time I drove my Cummins all of the way from Nebraska. It gets decent mileage. BUT! I can get fresh tators a lot closer than that. Enjoy.

Randy, I suppose it would be expensive. I just got through eating a big mess of it and it was good. I was so tickled to see all the produce I had to announce it. I have been watering it nonstop since it was planted. I was really supprised by the way it has turned out. I had fresh brocoli too. I should have had cabbage and brocoli 2 or 3 weeks ago, but the cold snap we had earier really set it back.

Count me IN! I just got done eating at 10:30 though. Got both rear axles rebuilt and installed. hey now, those buggers are HEAVY when all put together and trying to hold it and slide the shaft into the bull gears. my arms feel 6 inches longer.. We cooked pork chops over a sassafrass fire and had mashed taters and green beans with onions and pork chop fat put in and a Falls City Beer to wash it down. UMMMmmmmm!

Didn't think they even made Falls City anymore. I cooked my stuff on a oak fire in the Dutch oven. It was right tasty. You are suppose to make tea with the sassafrass. I haven't had any in a long time. I never was to crazy about it anyhow. I haven't had the axles off my H yet, but those rascals on the M are quite heavy. I have had those off a time or two. If you don't get that thing finished soon, you might need a cab on it when winter strikes.

Oh yeah, Falls City $9.00 a case! Plus it acually tastes good! Sassafrass wood is kind of "spicy" and it tastes great to cook pork with. I don't even have to salt it or any kind of seasoning! I am tossed between it and hickory. The tea isn't bad either when you have fresh roots, but dried tasted good too but I have to sugar it down. Some people around here are just now starting to get a few early things out of the garden patch, Mine went in late so it will be a while for me. I should have the H back together by this weekend if the brakes show up. Old ones had a little life left, but a bit grease soaked so I might as well just put in new since I took it this far. The brakes worked a lot better on the H than the ones on my M. I need to adjust/ replace those bad since it is in hill country right now, but I have to pull of the 3 point hitch to do it and didn't have time.
