For my Farmall Super BMD build in the UK I need an belt pulley gearbox,this part is hard to find in Europe
Because the clearence in the gearbox necessary for the larger startermotor used on the dieselengine the gearbox from a MD or WD6 will fit,can somebody tell me the cast number of these gearboxes

Housing 357185 R1 and R2 will give the most clearance on american tractors. Used on gas and diesel starting around late 51. As mounted on tractor the left front corner is angled to rear of tractor compared to earlier housings. Also the angle started being added to transmission top cover. Have no idea if they work on SBMD though.

All M, MD, W-6, and WD-6 and descendents thru 560 and 660 use the same basic BP gear box. The shifter lever is configured differently on later models but that is of no consequence as it can be repositioned.

If one from a 450 diesel will fit I will go to the barn and check the number for you.
