hi there, i have a 44 a with a pneumatic lift that doesn't want to lift up very well. the leather is not that old, it has been sitting all winter outside and there is water in the above part of the cannister. is there anyway short of dismantling the cannister to get the water out? as i've lifted it more water comes out but not enough to get it to work well. or is there something else that i'm missing here, something else thats not right? thanks, kevin

If it isn't lifting well, the first place to do some maintenance is the pressure valve on top of the exhaust manufold. Open it up by removing 2 bolts. Leave the bottom half in place. Clean out any rust flakes. Flatten the bottom side of the valve flapper with a file. Clean up the seat in the bottom half of the housing. After reassembling the valve, make sure the shaft turns freely and that the control lever is able to completely close the valve.

First let me say i have been using these systems since 48 the condensation you are talking about must have come from being outside and water can drain down the piston. However it does not ruin the leather. I would raise and lower the cycl as when it it up the excess will come out of the top breather hole. You can take out the lower plug and drain the excess from whatever is below the piston. The moisture will keep the leather on the piston from getting dry and not able to do its job. If the cycl loses pressure the rubber washer in the valve assy by the filter is bad and wont let the washer seat and hold the pressure. Just raise the cycl up and down several times and the excess will bleed off. You may call me anytime 319-430-3907 cell or 319-683-2859 and i will help you get the system operating.
