I have a Super M I bought that has M&W live power on it and it works really well. The brakes work well on it and there is no external evidence of any oil leaking around the brake shaft. I am not parting out the tractor however I have no use for the live power. I have a guy that is interested in it. What is the live power worth?

Trade tractors. If his is usable for the purposes you have, and he would rather have your M&W system, the energy and effort to swap them is 500$ and the unit as Rusty says may be worth 500. Unless he has junk, he should give you the difference and all is well. JimN

I only want to part with the M&W live power. I want to keep the tractor because it has a reall good engine and smooth transmission.

The effort to get the components changed is serious gear work. With the components from the other tractor there night not be any problems. The 500 would not include the labor, or materials/gaskets needed. The left pinion would need to be examined pretty well so it will be operational with your tractor JimN

LOL Nothing on an M is "serious" when you couple my background with my Dad's. I work on automated manufacturing equpiment and he used to work on diesel trucks with his specialty being transmissions.

Those old Ms were just grand old tractors.

The only thing holding them back in this day and age is that they don't have the live power.

Just wondering tho, where you would ever find parts for one of those aftermarket clutches. Just don't think it would be realistic to put one to work in the real world.

Dunno tho,

Allan

A wild guess would be $500, and that guess may be way too low.
