NOS pistons for my H

I am still trying to determine how to install my new pistons. I have a set of NOS aluminum flat top pistons, but they have no arrows or notches in them to determine which side goes toward the front of engine. I am curious if anyone knows the proper orientation, or maybe if it doesn't matter. It looks to me like they will function even if installed 180 degrees off, but I sure hate to risk it. If anyone knows, or could put me in contact with someone who may know, I certainly would appreciate it. Thanks!
Aaron

Here is the answer, and data source (science).
The piston needs to be installed with the offset in a specific direction. The rotation direction of the engine is key. The short side of the piston is always on the side of the engine toward which the crankshaft turns. Thus when the piston is just past true TDC on the crankshaft, the rod will be effectively straight down from the piston, gaining thrust advantage, and reducing the side pressure on the piston (a wee bit) at the point of peak mean effective pressure.

Measuring: Pull the piston pin part way out of one piston and put it in a vice (soft jaws) so the piston can be rotated around it. Spin the piston and measure to the side of the piston from a stationary heavy object placed for good stability. Then flip the piston 180 and measure to the same point. If they are so close that there is no difference with a careful measurement, then put them in either way but be consistant. If they do have offset, place the offset short side on the side of the engine on which the crank moves down when the piston moves down. I hope this helps. See below JimN

Is the wrist pin centered? If it is, it doesn't make any difference. If it is offset , it goes to the thrust side.
