He bought 2 semi loads of high crops! he had to buy all or the guy would not sell him any. any ways he has sold 2 mv's and has 6 high crops left. 5 were mvs and one was HV and one was smv. he has about 10 standards and still has 10 high crops total. there were os4 os6 crawlers! he had super hs had a white c demonstrator, super a's lots of a's,c's,super c,'s I just cant rember them all!!! he had industrial models!!! his real nice ones were in what looked like a house!!!! inside he had all the "o" series and the high crops! he had A cotton harverser which has the dropped axels but run gear on gear instead of chain drive! it literly took my breath away!!!! i could not belive how many rare tractors this man had. i did not see one reg H or M. they were all high crops standards orchards or industrials. he did have some c's and a's actually he had alot! i could not belive my eyes!!!! he has criss crossed the entire nation to acuire these tractors. even went to canada for alot of the standards. he started 15 years ago!! i bet in my life time i will not have as many rare tractors as he has. he has 2 high crops one super m "y" codes and one 47 HV that are both setup with everything orignal like from factory both have correct distalite manifold tanks shutters ect. Out of a scale of 1 to 10 i would give it a 20!!! i will hopefully get some pictures and share them with you. I asked him if he goes to shows and he said "no" unbeliveable, i had to pinch myself to see if i was dreaming!

I wonder why he doesn't take them to shows or anything. Did he mention what his collection is for, or what his goal is with them?

How did you come to find out about the collection?

oh no these were so cheery you could put them on top of a bananna split!!! plus this guy dosent mess with the common farmalls hes into the hard to find stuff!!! but i would love to see any ones collections. but it would take alot of searching to beat this one!!!!! i still cant belive it was real!!! and i see it just hours ago!!! i stayed as long as i could asking lots of questions. I bet there was close to 650,000 worth of tractors. i know the ones in his house like shop would go for high high buck as they are better then new! all have less than 50 hours on rebuild engines. those orchard ones look so neat but there are kinda tough to sit in all day as your knees are at your chest!

jonnnny: There are numerous collections in this league. We have a guy here in Nova Scotia, Canada, has every version of every letter series tractor ever built, somewhere around 100 tractors, and all completely restored. He told me in 2001, they cost him on average $10,000. per tractor to buy and restore. When he started 30 years ago, it was under $2,000.

There is another guy in eastern Ontario, has well over 300 vehicles, cars, tractors and trucks, however only about 100 of them are restored to date. His tractors are all IH, most of the trucks are IH, but there is one beauty a B-61 Mack and a Brockway Husky and about 7 cars, 5 of them Cadilac. The cars and trucks are all insured, inspected and registered for highway driving. My daughter and husband had a tour of this place, over 22,000 square feet of heated warehouse. His son in law, spent the afternoon showing them this. My daughter took photos enough to make up a complete album. As their tour ended, the owner, and staff landed home from a show with a K series IH highway tractor and drop deck trailer and the Mack with trailer and the trailers were loaded with IH tractors. First chore was to presure wash every thing before it was put away. This facility has 3 full time employees.

There are numerous collections like this across North America, and most of these guys know each other. When I was talking with the guy from NS in 2001, I mentioned the guy from eastern ON, and he had met him at an auction in Missouri. There was a collection somewhere in the mid west, one each of every year of Farmall M and SM. Someone will correct me if wrong, however I think that collection was sold in an estate dispersal auction.

Most of the guys that have these collection are now in their twilight years, mainly because it takes a lifetime to put something like this together, plus you must have a good source of income along the way.
