Did you check the depth of the flywheel from the PP mount flange to the friction surface. this must be within .010" of spec.
Did you check the disk for out of round, or runout, by putting it on the trans shaft, and spinning it to check??
The finger adjustment is most important that it be even in depth from a commom point. not in terms of a specific height. they need to be within .005" of the same installed height, when in place with the bolts tight.

Ive been thinking on your issue, and things don't seem correct with some component in that assembly. Idon't rule out pivot point slop in the pedal, or linkage greif, but that change in the finger height from stopped to high idle bothers me. Is there adifference between the old and new PP? trying to help, JimN

Thanks Janicholson for all help and thoughs.I will try to answer some of your questions.pp was ordered my part # out of parts book, from wengers i think,it looked the same as the old one at the time but i no longer have the old one.I did nothing to the old flywheel besides turn the ring gear over. The rest looked ok acording to napa but mayebe all is not ok where can i get mine turned if needed? There is a little ware on the throw out carrier, but even with carrier/t/o held all the way back fingers still come out and touch t/o at high rpms.I did not check clutch disk for out of round but will do so per your method thanks again and i will contuine to post my progress on this issue, i am a little slow at posting and typing.

Could you tell us why you went into it in the first place? If the reason is similar to the current problem, maybe we need the info. Were the three bolts used to ship the clutchPP removed from the cover after install?
If you place the new disk on the new PP is there perfect fit of worn place to new lining?
Is there any lost motion in the linkage worn clevices, or pivots? Some have had issues with the pin that locates the throughout fork on the shaft being loose and allowing excessive rotation of the shaft with no fork motion. JimN
