Hi, 40 some years ago my bulk hauler told me to put a gallon of diesel into each tank full of gas. Have done that with my H, 315 combine and 1700 loadstar, I think it is some of the best advice I have ever got. Chuck

wasting your money, i just overhauled a 806 gasser and put 93 octane in it, also just got a allis g going and original book was with it and it called for 60 octane back when it was new about 1948. now in my 525 cummins i would add a qt of auto fluid every couple weeks to help keep the water dispersed. now that they hace low sulphur fuel i added it more often, 904,000 and still running good. never beleived in the high priced additives.

Haven't used additives (except anti-gel in the diesel in the winter) for many years on our farm. Run equipment from 1942 on up and have never had a fuel-related problem. Don't waste your money...

Sta-bil helps if you are going to let something sit for more than a couple months.

when i have my bulk tanks filled, i add sta-bil to them to help keep the fuel fresh, occasionally i will add some marvel oil to a tractor gas tank. but thats about it.

gm super a: If you gat a kick out of wasting money, by all means buy the additive. A good number of us have 30 plus years on our tractors without it. That crap was for high rpm, high performance engines, your Farmall is neither.

I run E-10, straight out of the pump, nothing added. No problems for at least 15 years.

I have had problems with gasahol (E-10)in my tractors that set a lot. It seems the alcohol evaporates and I am left with 50 octane gas.

Here in IOWA we have been using the ethanol 10% mix for over 25yrs with no problems tractors sit for the winter and start every spring without any additives ect. Some i shut the gas off at the sediment and let the carb run dry and others is just hit the sw.

seems to me it was decided that the extra life you get from the valve train versus the cost of a 4$-5$ additive per tank of fuel was not worth it. If it makes you feel good lots of people like MMO (Marvels Mystery Oil)Lots also hate it.

Yeah, I like that suff too. Alot of people I know also use auto trans fluid. I've even used a little two stoke oil also, since that is what it's made for, to lube the internals that don't get oil.
