I have had a lot of M's &H's over the years, but I never had one that wouldn't pump any oil at all. The oil was pretty dirty and thick. Any thoughts would be appreciated? Has anyone ever had to replace the oil pump?

Does the oil gauge work? You should use compressed air and clean out any lines and clean the oil filter canister out good and put in a new filter. Drain the oil pan and remove it and wipe out any sludge. On the bottom of the oil pump pick up, there is a screen. Remove the metal piece that holds the screen in and clean it out good. Also be sure that the crankcase breather in the push rod chamber on the side of the engine is clean. Put the screen back in the pump and put in a new oil pan gasket. See if this gets you any oil pressure. Make sure all oil lines are good and un damaged.

You may have sludge blocking the oil flow. You may need to take a look at the pickup screen on the oil pump, it could be be sludged over too. Hal

No i have never had to but that is not sayen that you would not be the first. It could be that it is just sluged up and the passage is pluged , amybe somme spray cab cleaner and a blow gun will solve the problem or maybe ya got other problems like a cam bearing that turned off the top of my head i can not remember just how the oil passages run in that engine.
