after 10 or hours she runs a lot better. slobbers when idling burns it off on a load. No smoke at any time.

the fuel pump is pretty loud when warmed up. at a fast idle you can hear clicking. like every injector crack causes a pretty big click. Understand that the prev. owner ran it 100 hours over 10 years. Should I do the auto trans fluid? i did add some diesel additive.

also, i didn't change the fuel filters yet. what is the procedure? i don't see where i can bleed the system, do I need to?

Thanks again for all the help.

Should be a bleed screw on top of each filter head. Close the tank shut-off valve, change filters. Open shut-off valve. Open bleed screw on rear filter head, Close it when you get a strong stream of fuel free of air bubbles. Repeat for front filter. She'll start right up. Clean up fuel mess and you're done!

throw a pint or 2 of atf in the fuel that will cleen things up. i have done it on dirty carbs with good results before but never a diesel. all it is is a high deterget oil. just change the filters and make sure you got a good flo to the pump and take her out and let er RIP!
