Today in the morning around 8:00 when I was coming home from Fleet Farm I got to thinking about the guy that bought the Super M when I was little. So I went by the guy and yes he had it. He said the last time it has been ran is 20 years. He said one day it just quit on him and put in a shed that is just about fallen down. The tractor is in very said shape. Rims are rotted out tires are shot sheet metal rough has a cracked block and missing a lot of stuff. I asked how much and he said I could have it for free. Just little history behind this Super M. My Great Grandpa bought the year my grandpa took over the farm. Tractor was used a lot had about six different engines and 2 rear ends The seconded one was a rear end form a junked out SMTA after that a wide front was put on. Not to sure of when my grandpa sold it. I have a 450 engine that I got for free that needs a over haul so I will but that in there and give the tractor a complete over haul. That will give me a good winter project to do. Also what decals would you guys put on? I ‘m thinking SMTA ones since it has a TA. Can’t wait to dig into this thing. Since I got little time now I’m going to pick it up.

That is pretty neat. I just bought the second of the Farmall's that my father in law/grandfather in law bought brand new.
Also, I have a set of rear rims and tires that I wound up with and I don't need. I found two pair pretty cheap in the State Farmer and ended up getting both of them...I am awful! They are down in Walworth County, let me know.

thats great. when my uncles got out of farming and sold everything one kept their super c and all the fast hitch stuff and the others let everything else go. One says he regrets selling his fathers super m everyday and would give his arm to have it back.

Glad to hear you get a family tractor back. I bought my Dad's H back last fall - he always said he didn't really care, but I can see when he gets on it that it really means a lot to him.

Good luck fixing it up!

Wow, that's great. Good thing you asked the guy, before that piece made it to the scrap yard!
I spent 6 months tracking down my grandfathers H, only to find that it had been wrecked by being rolled over into a ravine, and was then sold for scrap. It is somewhere in a 50 acre scrap yard which is about 75 miles from me; under 25 years of other junk. If I get the time and gumption, I am still going to try to track it down....it's funny how much old tractors mean to us by virtue of a connection to our kin.

Whatever you do, go get it quick!! I have had several things given to me over the years and waited too long to go get them. My uncle said I could have a set of rear steel for an F-14 I was fixing up. about 6 months later he was killed in a farming accident and I didn't feel right going up to his wife and saying "Oh by they way" Know what I mean? Some other scoundrel came up and conned her out of them.

Gene, the same thing happened to me. My dad's next door neighbor gave me a 2HM corn picker. A week later he had a heart attack and died. When I went after it his son that knew about the deal wanted 1500 dollars for it. so needless to say I don't have it. Dad said the last time he was over there it was still sitting in the barn.
