Where do you put the shift pattern decal on a Super A?
Also where does the operator warning decal go?

I may be mistaken but this is what i know: The brake warning decal goes on the gas tank, centerline, on the rear (operator's) quarter of the tank. Immediately behind that (toward sthe operator) goes the shift pattern. Though i didnt put it on mine as its already on the tranny cover as the other guy pointed out. The seat back has a drawbar warning label but its not usually included the decal kits. Same with battery warning for the battery box though Hunter Decals is producing these now. Early SA's had the oil level decal, later ones didnt i believe. Also, a 48 SA should have a different oil filter decal than later ones. I believe the early ones is slightly larger with Pur-O-lator spelled out.

I put the shift pattern right in front of where the shift pattern is cast into the metal. But I wonder if it should even be there or anywhere. Not much use to have it when the pattern is there anyway.

Theres one big one on the gas tank, its the white one.

One small yellow one on back of the seat. I cant remember what it has. Its a warning of some kind, pto warning maybe?

The one on the oil filter cover.

And one on the oil pan that shows the fill line (which I dont think should even be used but I did anyway).

There was one on the left hand side of the battery box that has a warning about discommecting the battery.

One for the light switch which goes over the switch.

I think thats all of em.

Super A's didn't use a decal for the gearshift pattern. It is cast onto the trans. cover. Also no decal for oil level. Both of these have somehow made their way into decal sets. Guy Fay's Letter Series Originality Guide is an excellent source showing where all the decals go.

On my '48 Super A I used the big "PurOLator" oil filter decal. I am not convinced that is original, but I like it. Some pics show up in the first edition of the Super A owners manual with that decal, but some of those pics are probably retouched A's.

Don't Forget a '48 Super A should have "Cultivision Super A" with the "Super" in a ribbon over the A. The main hood decal should say McCORMICK-DEERING FARMALL with the IH emblem in front of it.

Cousin Super A,

Yea, you can see in the operators manual that there was no oil level sticker used.

The shift decal I had kind of figured for a long time it wasnt needed but I didnt have Guys book. I may take mine off some day if I can do it without messing the paint up.

I think those sticker packages a lot of times are just generic. I know I had a few left over that didnt apply to a Super A.
