I have been curious for a while on the F-20 seat assembly's. I have seen the 2 styles, one with the sping and shock the other on a chunk of flat iron. Was the seat with the spring and shock a deluxe option or was one made before the other? I have the shock/spring style on my late 39 and beleive its the right one.

The original F20 seat is a channel iron with a coil spring on the underside near the differential housing cover. The ones with the conicial spring were made by Monroe and were a popular add-on. Another common aftermarket seat is the knoedler.
