If I could just talk this guy down to $200, and deliver it to my house for free... I'd be in business!

:)

DISCLAIMER: This is a silly post. Not to be taken seriously as some plea for money or hauling. Please step back from the ledge. Although the listed tractor meets the members specifications, reality dictates restraint. Thank you.

Hi Mike, Andrew has his orders, going to Mayport Florida. He is doing real good. Hey, We are going to get you an H if it kills us. I have two or three in the works. I have some photos, just need to become more proficient at posting.

please please please don't kill yourself.

If you want to e-mail some photos, that would be fine. You've got my e-mail.

What will your boy be doing in Mayport? Remind me, did he get a rate?

Remember the saying: "looks aren't everything" as you go through this process...

What's the first thing you think when you see this tractor?

third party image

Probably thinking it's been well used and maybe even abused? Or at least needing a fair amount of work...

Just needs paint and a clutch (doesn't slip yet, but getting there). Looks can be deceiving and I would rather rebuild a tractor on my own than to trust someone else's abilities, but that's just me. I'm not a fan of the spray-can restoration.

What"s the first thing you think when you see this tractor? - STEVEN@AZ"s words:

The first thing I think of is what I thought of when I first saw this picture weeks past...it sure would look good "posed" in front of the gambrel-roofed, red barn w/white trim, blue sky, big clouds and some "sweet" mornin" or evenin" light...that is what you could call "a calendar shot". Now get out there, get some proper front tires on it and "pose" that Farmall!

Well, the tires that are currently on it are some old pickup tires that were laying around... no money to spend on tires when the current ones still hold air!

I'll try to make some nice "posed" pictures this summer. I plan to get all my toys out and line them up!

That looks like a 7 foot mower. Just what I need. I'll take the mower for $300 then Mike can save some dough. I will have to drive 1200 miles to get it but then we all want Mike to get his H.

I won't take less than $1500 for the mower and $2500 for the tractor... actually I hopefully will never have to sell the tractor, too much sentimental value as it's been in the family for many many years, just like my Dad's H.

What's the first thing I think when I see this tractor?

It's in Iowa, and I can't afford it. :)

hmmm.....nice lookin h there mike. its got your name all over it!!! ya know clermont ia is only about 270 miles or so from me.....one day round trip with the trailer. i'd be happy to keep that h in my barn for ya!!!!! course, it would need to go out every now and then for a stretch. then maybe in 10 years or so when you get out in this neck of the woods, i could help ya load it for the trip to sunny california. might be dangerous out there tho, hear you guys have earthquakes and such, prolly be safer in my barn!!!!!

Hi Mike, That is a nice one! It is a lot like mine minus the all fuel and year parts. I got my 51 H for $1200 all "restored" but I am now stuck with a bunch of bad bearings in the rear end. It must have been a "spray can restoration". Ahh, the hazards of an auction purchase where you can't see it move. Oh well, I will get it done, I am just a little discouraged today. Good luck in your search for one!

Ill take it if you want to get rid of it. Bearings and seals are just part of the things. Looking nice is great to start with. Saves a lot of time, money and energy.

I think I will keep it, I was just not looking forward to having something else around here to fix. There is a very nice 1970 442 4 speed convert sitting in the barn with a wiring problem, a 68 442 that needs everything, a wooden boat that needs to be redone again, a 24 oldsmobile that needs some top work and paint, a 49 chevy truck that needs everything,,,well you get the idea. My problem is when I rebuild something I go all out like I am going to use it everyday forever. It will be mechanicly sound when I am done though.
