I am missing the "rubbing block" anti-sway "tensioners" for the lift arms for the hitch on my 140HC.

Anyone know the part numbers?

Thanks

Richard: You've lost me, is this one point fast hitch or an aftermarket three point hitch? Problem is I can't think of any "rubbing block anti sway tensioners" on the factory hitches.

Everyone is lost on this one. I think I have a 2 point hitch. There is a tool bar that a set of hippers fit on. This bar is supported by two lift arms that go under the tractor and are bolted at a pivot point and at a spot that has 2 holes that are chamfered to take a bolt such as a lug bolt. bolts are 1 1/4" headed. the vertical arms are connected to a cross piece seemingly attached fender to fender.

Any help?

Richard, You`ve stumbled onto one of the better kept secrets of Fast Hitches on the 100,130 & 140 series tractors. Everyone thinks there was only a 1 point FH on them, but on the Hi- Clear models it was a 2 point with the same size prongs as the Super C (2 1/2").They used a 2 pt on Hi Clears because the 1 pt hung lower and right in the middle of the row to be cultivated or bedded.Kinda defeated the purpose of the Hi Clear if the hitch was in the way. I have a 1960 140 HC with a 2 point and a hipper. I know the sway brackets you speak of and found them in my Super A parts book (SAI-1A) under Cane Tools. These same brackets were used on the Super AV ,though the Super AV didn`t have the fast hitch ,they did use some of the same parts for the bedders and such. The part #`s you`re looking for are (PO 28 406 right stabilizing bracket)(PO 28 405 left stabilizing bracket). Also would say that they wouldn`t be the hardest things to make. I could take a few pics and give you some dimensions from mine. They are an angle iron welded to another plate with 2 holes. Mark

OK now makes sense. In the middle of the tractor the tool bar 90's up then 90's over and then 90's down. This inverted u gives you the ground clearance so it is truly high clearance.

I was beginning to believe I had lost my mind. Wish I could insert a picture of the hitch.

Waiting to hear from you Mark and thanks everyone.

Mark: Thank you, best kept secret is right. Just goes to show, one can never stop learning new things. HC or V tractors are not very common here in Canada. I've seen a couple of AV and SAV, have never seen a 100HC or 130HC. I saw one 140HC with no hitch, however from paint I would say it had U drawbar, when it had a hitch.

Richard, should be a one point for a 140.

Hugh, did you notice he has a "High Clearance" tractor? Does that make any differance?

I have a picture of the fast hitch from the 144 cultivator manual if that would help but its for a regular 140 and not a HC. Would be glad to scan it and post if for yall.

Randy: Read my responce to Mark, a fella can learn new things everyday. I couldn't count the times I've been tempted to ask the question about fast hitch on offset HC tractors.

Dad always said, "Everything cometh to he who waiteth, prividing he worketh like hell while he waiteth. He missed on this one, as I didn't even try to find out. Now, I'll got to the foot of the class and join the HTA discussion.

That's it Randy, start another HTA thread and break new records. It would be 4th on current Farmall pages. Just think, how little we'd learn.

My parts books and other publications specifically exclude the HC from the listing of part numbers. That is what is making it difficult. It is excluded but I can't find anything where the parts are listed.

Link has a picture where you can partially see the lift arms. What keeps this from swinging left to right?

Looks like Mark has your answer but I did like the pic. Kind of shot my theory on industrials having the cast wheels tho cause that one has the steel ones like I want weights for.
