I have a 6 bottom 16 inch , rigid trailer plow, with the box frame, that has been in a building fire. Not sure of the model, but I think it is a Model 16. Would like to fix it up. 150 years of IH book says they didn"t make it in a 6 bottom. Did they make a 60 or 70 in a 6 bottom? Will need all the rims and assist springs if anyone has any. Darn 150 years of IH doesn't list a 60 or 70 series plow. I want my $$ back.

Hope to use it this fall at Gaards and Carpenter plowin bees. there are others as well if time allows. I have the came gear in a engine out back. You may want to update to a 450 cam gear if you have live hyds. I would go "all in" in cards with the plow,if it would fit on the table, lol.

Don sounds like a 70 to me 16 didnt have a boxed frame backbone. The 70 had the axles on top of the beams the 60 had them below.

Plow is 20 miles away at the sheds. Hope to learn and listen to you folks as to what it is. I will need lift assist springs, I would hope a 4/5 bottom would be the same, in that respect.

Kevin: 60 doesn't even figure in here as it was never manufactured in 5 or 6 bottom. It has to be 70 or 770.

Have hope when God is involved ! "Hope" to have it in the dirt this fall. Look at all the wrecked cars and trucks that get fixed after they are totaled.

Don: Only the model 70 and 770 were ever made in 6 bottom versions. The 700 came in 7, 8 or 9 bottom, and the 800 came in 9, 10, 11, 12 , 14 or 16 bottom, but it was basically two plows hooked in tandem.

Don't know the model number, but damn, that must be one long trailer plow. I just want to be sure I'm getting this right, it is a trailer plow that trips with a rope, correct? Biggest one I've seen is a four bottom.I Never knew they made a six either. Any chance of posting a pic?

Not many plows, any make over 4 bottom ever used the trip rope, the lift wheel just couldn't get enough traction. In greasy cinditions it was even a problem on 3-4 bottom plows. Many of them were converted to hydrauilc lift cylinder. All it took was a cylinder and linkage between lift wheel and plow frame.

Read my post above, 6 bottom rigid frame trailer was not the largest trailer plow.
