I know where there is a stage 2 super H that has a M propaine ensen carb set up on it. Its really nice propaine set up all ensen parts. the motor cant run because some one stole the distributer and live hydrolic setup. the engine still turns over by hand so its not stuck. but it needs all tires. has single front wheel. the stearing wheel sucks. needs work. but its one of those rare stage 2 1953's Also it has all correct Y codes. how much is it worth I wanna have a propaine setup as propaine is still cheep. (not like it was .99 but 1.50 not bad compared to gas. Also i wonder would the super h on propaine have a diffrent higher compression head? what should i offer him? i was thinking mabey 400 or 500??? mabey 300 because the tires are gone!

I have a 1953 Stage 2 -- the fact that it is a 1953 does not make it more valuable, the stage 2 does. If it runs and is in relatively good condition $1500-$2500, $2500 is more likely than $1500, PROVIDED the seller knows what he has, he may not know or care. I paid $2250 for mine in 2002, good running condition, several leaks, straight tin, bad rear tires, and absolutely no paint. However, and this is only my opinion: Although the LPG conversions were very popular, and result in a cleaner burning engine, they devalue the tractor because of the loss of originality. I would be much more likely to buy an LPG H or a LPG stage 1 Super H because of that. I think the stage 2 Super H's and Super M's will increase in value, not to the level of the MTA, but increase non the less. In my opinion the LPG conversion makes it worth less money, not more.

john A I know that they never made a lpg super H. it is a stage 2 super it has a serial like 21334J and the motor is like 24334 so it has to be a gas only as there is no code indicating a dist or kero. they did nit mark the supers with the "X1" for gas. It is a stage 2 super H that some one took off a propaine setup off a super m or a M. the tank says model M on it. And evert thing is enson lpg parts. I will talk to him and see what he says. It has a one wheel front. its missing some parts. i'll see what i can pick her up for.

could you double check on the numbers? the motor number should be around 24101 if the chassis is 21334. sounds like an interesting project, hope you have luck in getting it for the right price. Pat in Wis

jonnny, In the Letter Series if Farmalls the H,SH both never came from the factory with a LP opition.
What you are looking at is a Farmer/Field conversion. Check the Serial # I will be willing to bet it ends in a X1. which means it was a Gasoline setup originally. So it on LP ....OK. This is a neat setup, Very Novel in the Norther regions of the US. A clean well done version IMO is just as classy as gas version. And I prefer LP on my older tractors. The tanks just make the tractors look tough.
Nebraska Cowman, redid an old H a couple of yrs ago. It had the extra long 100 in. axles, also the single cotton front. He calls his the "Cantalope Special" for it is typcal to older tractor in Cantalpoe fields he had been around. Get ahold of him over on his web site, or do a search here on the Boards and see the pics of his. This is One Very, Very, Very, well done tractor!!! Back to the engine, Check the Serial # see when it was made , over on the LH side of the page under Research/Info. That will tell you when it came originally. But chances stand to reason that it has been overhauled 1 to 3 times in its life. doyou will not know how it is set up untill it is torn down. What to offer.... IMO, start very low you can always go up. Not Stuck No tires!!! Start at $200.
Hopefully you will end up at $400 or so. Go to EBay and check the Hs and SHs there, Hs are more plentiful than fleas on a dog. Good running tractors can be gotten for + - $700 to + - $1500 in really nice un restored running condition. Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.
