Does 16 dollars sound right for a h4 dist cap? I was kinda shocked when my wife dana told me how much the darn thing was.... It might be because it is a I.H cap and the ones i'm used to paying 7 bucks for are the delco dist caps on my h's. Brings me to my next ? Are the delco distributers ( they are vertical of coarse) just as good or better then the I.h. ones? I don't like how the one wire always seems to rub on the hood of my 43 distillate burner. Its close on my 44 "X1" but dosent rub. I suppose my 43's hood is bent in just a tad. but if it had the i.h. dist that is horazontil it would not matter. I think i will switch them back to the horizontal I.h. dist next time it needs points or a new condenser.

Sounds too high. At L&M you can get the cap, points, condenser and rotor for less than $16.

Prices just plain have me confused. I checked on caps for my 300u awhile ago. NAPA and Bumper To Bumper where both about $25.00. I checked with my IH Dealer and he was $12.00. I only guessed the IH Dealer had an old pricing, and bought it from him. But, who really knows how they arrive at these prices? I sure don't!
Seems to me $16.00 is on the low side of being in the middle if that means anything.

You think that is high priced. For my Oliver’s you can only get the caps from Agco and they go up every year. They are now around $45.00. That is not a bad price $16.00. The caps for my Farmalls are around $13.00.

Thats a little high but if you get it from a Case/IH dealer that sounds about right. But if you compare that to the price of a mag cap for say an Allis, $60-90 thats still dirt cheap. Or one for a JD at $57. Or one for an Oliver at $79 your still getting off very cheap. Ya I know I'm compareing IH to others but since I work on them all I like to compare what some parts cost across the board and some IH stuff is high and other stuff is low. Just depends on what it is
