Anyone ever turbocharge an 856? Pro's, con's? The transmission is the same part numbers as the bigger tractors, the final drive has different part numbers.
Did the DT407 motors have oil squirters on the bottom of the pistons for cooling? Would a D407 that is turboed need them?

I have one of them. Great tractor... loads of power. It has never been dynoed, but it will pull with our 1066, downside is it won"t do it for long....it will overheat, not enough radiator.

Thousands of them had the M&W kit installed when new. Depends where you set the pump. It'll do 110 hp and be reliable. Set it to 130 and work it full load all of the time, and reliablity will suffer. It'll do 150, but then you're really pushing it.

Had an 856 turbo when I first started farming had more power then tires(18.4Rx34). It came to end one winter day when it slid down the hill backward and jack knifed while hooked to the loaded manure spreader, ripped the pto and its guts right off the main transmission case. Insurance man bought it after that.
