Super A stalled out

I just recently tuned it up and replaced the magneto with a used distributor. It has been running great and then today while hilling up my potatoes it started acting up. It seemed like it was running out of gas. But there is plenty in the tank. The governor was jumping back and forth and it almost stalled four or five times before it actually did. Maybe my fuel filter is clogged or is this a Carb. problem? I rebuilt it about two years ago and the only trouble I have had is that it floods out when it is left sitting too long. So I installed a petcock to shutoff the fuel flow to the carb except when I am using it.

Is the fuel tank, line & sediment bowl clean so it is getting the gas correctly??? If cleaning these parts does not work, I'd try the carburetor. If not that, does it have good spark and good plugs and wires? If it is not any of these problems, you could have a governor problem, but I don't know much about governors.

Good luck, hope you get it running good again soon.

Andy.

I just changed the plugs and wires approx. two weeks ago. I am heading back out there to check the fuel flow situation. Might even rebuild the carb again just to be sure everything is ok there. I don't understand the concept behind governors either and I hope it is unrelated to that. Thanks.
