Was wondering if I could get some input from everyone concerning the value of a Super M-TA? If you have an idea or have seen one sold in your area please let me know what the going price was and the approximate condition of the Super M-TA sold. If you have a good guesstimate of what an excellent example of a Super M-TA would be worth let me know? I understand that there are alot of variables but your input would be greatly appreciated! Did they all have live hydraulics? Thanks, ETNfarmboy

there are 3 on ebay right now. one has a buy it now price of 6000. the other two are less i think the lowest is around 2200 right now. if you look long enough you can find a ok one or 2-3 grand but expect to put money in it and dont expect the t.a. to work for that kind of $

Andy:
I just wanted to get input from those that had seen one sold. I have not been able to preview the ones selling yet so I don"t know what they have to offer. I indicated in my original post that I wanted input in a general way because I realize that there are alot of variables to consider. I believe these to be restored and I assume fully functional. Ad indicates some have live power. Thanks, David

Thanks for all the input. I"m afraid that these tractors I found will all go for more than I can swing right now. But just as Hugh said I know they will only continue to go up. The sale also has some M"s, an H and I believe some implements. I may go for some implements at least to use on the M, H and Super H I have. Thanks again for all the input.

About 3 years ago an acquaintence about 1,300 miles away asked if I could find him a SMDTA, within 200-300 miles of southern ON. He was thinking $4,000. to $6,000. I found 4 and they were all in excess of his price range. They were good to fair, unrestored running tractors. My finding was gas would sell for less and in good unrestored condition, in fact I did find a gas model in his price range. Bear in mind, what I looked at were tractors that had good original paint and obviously shedded since new.

Much like the vet I found SMTA tractors really took off in price since 1990. In fact I looked at a SMDTA in 1968, and could have bought it for $1,800. back then, however I decided I had better uses for money back then. That was 39 years ago, thus it wouldn't have been a great investment.

Last one I saw sell was about 2-3 years ago in a NE KS farm auction. Pretty ratty looking, but it ran. Around $2800 if I remember. Appeared to be a working tractor. Don't remember any details about what worked and what didn't.

Bought mine latter part of june 1990 for 1850 bucks at a dealer only auction deceided that i would keep it and give it a good going over and paint it and use it for my second tractor , after the paint job i was not sure that i wanted to put it back in the fields . In 1994 it was at the res power round up in Hookstown Pa. and was one of the two in the video , i have turned down two offers of over 10000 grad for oh yea i am the second owner.

I bought a MTA gas with a wide front in Mar 2006 in WI for $4,000. The TA is out but the tractor had a wide front, good tires, good metal, decent paint, and live hydraulics. I have seen MTA's for $7500 to $12,500.
