Have never been around Mogul or Titan but have put in a lot of 60 to 80 hour weeks on F 20 and believe me the Hs and Ms begin to look pretty good after that.

Nick: This is an open forum and folks will discuss what they want to discuss. Your not going to get any questions about pre 1930s tractors from folks wanting to fix a Farmall H or M.

The truth is most folks on here are not collectors, but rather people using a tractor for part time farming, full time farming or yard work. Usually the full time and retired farmers are giving advice, the part time farmers are both asking and giving advice, and by far the largest group left the farm 40 years ago, just want to be brought up to speed on what grandad didn't tell them about the tractor they are using for yard work. Personally, I don't think you will find a whole lot of folks using a Mogul or Titan equipped with a Woods belly mower, garden plow or disk, etc.

That is just my personal observation from being around YT close to 8 years. I've yet to try and answer the question that hasn't been asked. I'm 65 and know very little about pre 1930 tractors, in fact, lifetime I've only driven one tractor with a mag, that being a W4 around 1948 to 51. I say 51 as the W4 was traded off for an H by my dad in 51. I suspect if one were to expect a lot of discussion about Moguls and Titans, we'd have to figure a way to communicate with those in their grave.

Nick, I went back 2 pages and here is what has been dicussed on the 2. 706,424,806,560,15-30,240,300,400,140,F-12,10-20,966,185,Super M,M,Super A,C,Cub and H. That is just on the last 2 pages. That is a broad spectrum. While back there were pictures posted right here of two W-40s or maybe they were WD-40s plowing this spring. I bet if you search the archives the Titan and Mogul have appeared here as well. If you have a question about one try asking it and have a little patience and someone will likely reply to it. If I had one or had ever had one and knew anything at all about them I would offer whatever I thought I knew. Very few have these or have even worked on them. The mechanics of that time are likely gone now. There is a man that is a IH dealer In Cincinnati that can likely answer all your questions about Titans and Moguls. I don't remember his name, but I bet you can find him on the net somewhere.

Nick, Just how many of those dam Titans or Moguls do you think are still working. The folks posting here for the most part are trying to work on working tractors. And like mentioned the common man doesn't have those old jewels. I liked CNKS's response, maybe you should start your own forum. Anything collected by folks is collectable.

It's whatever the individual wants, most of us can't afford the Titans and Moguls. Also many of us grew up with the letter series, and are restoring the tractors we grew up with. And they are easy to find and haul, etc. Collectible or not the F and letter series, early hundred series, etc in addition to being easy to find, many of us don't care if they are collectible, as it is only a hobby. You can always start your own Titan/Mogul forum if you like.

Im not trying to bash anyone but it seems like if you dont have an "M" or an "h" you cant get any help. I like (IHC) as much as anyone. I got the Red Power mag. for a while and i dident like it because it was all "M" and "H"s now I just get the Steam Traction and the Antique Power mag. because it has a lot more rare stuff and when i go to a show I like looking at Moguls, Titans, 8-16, oil tractors and even the and Regulars 10-20 and the 15-30 and the 22-36s not just the dime-a-dozen tractors am I right?

I also take Antique Power, and in several areas it is better than Red Power, I like both of them. But I skip the steam part, and the Titan/Mogul part because I simply have no interest in them. I am 69 years old and have never seen a steam tractor, except on RFD TV, or looked for one. I like this forum. To each his own, your preferences are your business.

CNKS, I have gotten to see a steam tractor lots of times. A neighbor who died about 6 years ago had an old Case engine, not sure of model or size. It sat in his barn year round and every year at tobacco housing time he would fire that thing up and keep her going until all the neighbors were finished housing tobacco. At dinner time and again at 5:00 he would let that whistle go and it could be heard for several miles. He sold it to a collector in Bourbon county(Paris) Ky about 2 years before he died. That guy in Bourbon county has 6 or 7 of them. Sorry for the rambling, just reminded me of when I was a kid and hearing that whistle blow.

I grew up in south Texas -- I don't believe there were any down there. My Dad started farming in the 20's, I never heard him mention one. There was an old 10-20 or 15-30 not running, sitting there that is the oldest I have seen. That was vegetable country, Steam tractors would have been far to big for that type of farming. Basically, my dad went from mules to an F20 and to B's and H's, except for the 10-20 or whatever it was.

Yah, i came off a little strong all im trying to say is that people still farm with "M"s and "H"s and to me if people are still useing them for drilling and runing augers than to me they seem more like a utiliy tractor than an antique. Im not trying to say that its wrong to collect them becausesomeday they might be worth alot
