Two more fields at the farm to lay down and get done then move the eight miles for the last 30 . If it was up to me i would drop that farm to stinken many ground hog holes as ya can make a round with out hitting two of three and some of them are groundhog condo's. That place needs ripped up with a deep till ripper and put in corn for two years so them ground hog would have to move to eat.

We don't have near as many ground hogs as we use to. Since coyotes came here in the late 70s and early 80s they have really declined. We have lots of coyotes though.

S.E. Indiana , samething with the coyotes and groundhogs here but in the last few yrs. the coyote sign is down and the groundhog numbers are up . We were runnin out of rabbits too but were seein more of them , groundhogs make good places for the rabbits to hide .

We have had a rabbit shortage here for more than 20 years. I and others have blamed it mostly on fescue and hay rollers. Since folks started rolling hay they have cleaned up places that use to be grown over with lots of cover for rabbits. Same with the Bob White Quail. The fescue effects the reproductive system in rabbits as well as lots of other critters. I have noticed more rabbits here at home for the last 2 or 3 years. House cats are hell on rabbits too. I still very seldom see a ground hog. I use to hunt them, and up until the early 80s they were thick as cat hair around here. Between me and my uncle across the creek we have killed 31 coyotes already this year. We are hoping to give the rabbits a chance. They are mighty good with biscuits and gravy.
