I am working on the 350 diesel and have the block back together and now assembling the valves into the head. The gasket set I got from Montes Equip (Parts for the Continental engine)does not have intake valve seals, but when I took it apart the original had seals. I called Montes Equip, but he said they don't have them in the set. On all the letter series Farmalls I have worked on they have no intake valve seals, but on car engines I have worked on they do. On this diesel, do I really need these seals? If so I will either have to make them or find them somewhere else. They are also a different seal than I have seen as they are a rubber seal at the top of the spring on the valve. If someone has a set please let me know. Roger

Roger, that could be. I will be glad to get mine back together. It is really easy on fuel. I could park that old M then and save on fuel by a bunch. I am waiting on an injector now. I hope not to do anything else on it for 10 or 12 years, but we know that won't happen. Then again it may never run again, I've been in that inection pump messing around.

Roger, I don't think there are suppose to be seals in them. I went and looked at mine and it doesn't seem to have any. I called IH and they said it does not have them either.

George, Thanks for the reply. The guy at Montes Equipment wondered if someone hadn't added it as an aftermarket thing. Roger
