Got a Smalley elevator at a sale, & took the corn hopper off to use it for hay. Terribly front end heavy. There are lots of adjustment holes in the frame. Does anyone have a manual which shows how to set this up for hay? Elevator was made in Manitowoc, WI probably 1970's. Thanks.

It is a 50 footer. Got it at a consignment sale last spring over at West Liberty, IA. How it ever got down this way, I'd never even guess. May have been a dealer somewhere in the area. I'm housed up at Wilton, IA & never heard of Smalley before. Evidently they were a short- line mfg. of machinery according to what info. I could find on the computer. Thanks. Jim

Brownie, you have a piece of history there. Take care of it! I live just south of Manitowoc. I can still remember the "Smalley" building, it was pretty small, especially for the materials they processed in a years time! I did some web research for someone else that inquired about Smalley. The only thing I found was historical facts. I had heard they built high quality equipment and that may have contributed to their demise.

Cowman, where are you located?

I live in New Holstein. I go to Manitowoc pretty often. I remember when the factory was there in Manitowoc I still have my elevator that my grandpa bought new. You’re right, hold on to that piece of history. They have made some other stuff too. I also have a little disk to by them It is only a 6 foot. Mine is a 70 foot and it has all the options that came with it too.

I have a Smalley elevator the best elevators around. What size is yours. I live about 25 miles away from where they where made. I may have a manual that came with the elevator when new. Have to take look. There is no adjustment other then the belt is the only thing and the side cover. There are some adjustments in there with the chain.
