I got a 3 bottom , 3 point, National brand plow. For years I have been dragging a 3 bottom trail plow behind the M. Even though I had the 3 point I never tried the 3 point for plowing til now. Man was that a joy to plow with. I worked up a couple of acres for deer food plots and that plow worked simply wonderful. I guess it is never to late to try this new fandangeled eqipment.

I hate fully mounted plows. They won't follow the contour of the ground. If the front wheels of the tractor go into a depression the plow comes out of the ground. If the frontwheels go over a bump, the plow gouges deeply into the ground. they don't like the curve of a terrace either. Semi-mounted steerable plows are a pleasure to run. Kansas Plowboy

Tom, I just think you didn't know how to set the plow you used. If the draft it set correctly with a well adjusted plow it will work very well. Or you are plowing some really rough ground.

Now not tryen to be a smart arres here but it is not a wise thing to be doing with a aftermarket 3 pt. as they realy were not made for this. Along with the extra stress to the axel housing bolts. If ya want to run more modren emplements one needs to step up a bit , if ya want to stay in the M look then step up to a S/MTa and put a fast hitch on it as the rearend was made for it

A mounted plow is a major change of program. Many fewer things to think about at the all stages of operation. JimN
