today I drained the oil and only about 2 tablespoons of water came out then the oil. I posted earlier about steam in the blowby pipe. it is just slowly coming out like blowby would, it might be just blowby. but there is a water drip every minute or so.

It wasn't real milky, but I know it hasn't had any hard use since the oil was new and it hadn't been running for a year or so before I bought it.

the reality is that I am gonna drain the antifreeze and add water and change the oil more regular until I can clear enough brush to figure where to build my barn. I have a weekend place.

My question is and I know y'all don't like bars leak, but which one would you use. the HD raditor, the cylinder head one or the liquid glass one or some other? any advice.

well, i'll keep y'all updated.

I really appreciate the experience and advice.

I can already tell, having run Massey 135's and 8n's all my life, that it really is an amazing machine.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but two tablespoons of water is two too many. It really dosen't matter if you've got straight water or antifreeze in the radiator, oil and water do not mix. As soon as some of that water gets sucked up by the oil pump and fed to a bearing, its gonna push the oil off of the bearing, heat will build, and bearing will become welded to crankshaft. Once a bearing starts spinning, there's no telling what will get wrecked. If you're lucky, it'll be a rod bearing and only wreck a rod and the crankshaft. If it's a main, then you get to buy a crank and a block. There aren't a whole lot of 358 blocks around anymore.

Did you get water or did you get anti-freeze at the oil drain?

If it appeared as straight water, that tractor just needs to be put back to a lot of hard work.

However, if your getting green anti-freeze, no snake oil in the world is gonna fix it. Further, by continuing to run it, you will damage the engine further. Ever buy a $1,000 crankshaft?

Pull 'er down and rebuild that motor.
