Does anyone know why my farmall b is blow the caps of a 12 volt battery, any ideas would be appreciated

Clean the battery caps and see that they are vented. Pressure should not build up if vents are open.

Use a volt meter set on dc voltage and measure the charging voltage at your battery. Your tractor engine needs to running at 1/2-3/4 throttle. The voltage should be in the range stated earlier below. Hal
PS: Is there a switch where you can change the charging rate? I think it may have an L or H on it.

The answers below are correct. 14.2 to 14.6 Volts on a fully charged battery. Any more and it will overcharge. JimN

a bad regulator will allow the generator to overcharge
