I've just finished reconditioning a 1100 IH 9 foot sickle mower/ Guards, hoses, tires, new bar, grass rods. Hooked it up to the 9666 to check out functioning. Everything good so I thought I would do a little yard mowing, about a 1/2 acre around the place of brome grass. One of my neighbors stopped on the way by, took a picture. Said he was going to send it to the local paper, under the heading of 'Using a sledge hammer to swat flies':) Now that the mower is tuned, It will go behind the StageII SH, which also has the two way hyds. and good brakes, thanks to you guys. I use an old Samurai for raking. Works great, and shade, radio, heat and air, and gets 20mpg pulling the IH16 Side delivery rake. It's super great for road ditches as there is no worry of rollover. I drive it where it's almost impossible to stay in the seat on a right hand incline. Hoping to get 500 or so bales from the first cut of 9 acres here around the home place. Over the last three years I converted all the idle land around the buildings, trees, creek etc to alfalfa. Now it's a view of a sea of green from any window. And a lot less'maintenence mowing'OH yeah, and I gross about the cost of a SuperH in hay sales every summer. Of course the net is ZERO!
