Our ground lays rather low. Even a week after it rains and being sunny most of the week, I still leave marks in the ground. They arent real deep, but still. The rear tires are filled with water, appx 710lbs total. Would draining the fluid help at all? or is 5700 compared to 5000lbs not much of a change? I have a loader, and am kinda worried about tipping over. I am going to keep the solution just in case tipping becomes a problem.

Maybe I just have too big of a tractor for my needs. I dont know. I know a smaller tractor would not pick up the dirt I'm able to with this. A smaller tractor would mean smaller implements which means more time working the soil.

I dont know. I wish it had draft control. I wish alot of things tho.

Not sure just in one of those mood slumps, ya know?

If your tires (rear) are good, maybe someone would swap turf tires for them. That would limit marks. It is a tractor, and that is a component of getting the traction needed to pull things. JimN

Yep wider tires or duals work well. With the loader you almost have to have that fluid or you will be spinning the rear tires a lot and that will really dig up the ground. Also wider front tires or a set of truck tires up front will help a lot. On my loader tractor I run 7.50X16 truck tires up front to keep the front wheels from digging in as bad, when I had the normal rib type fronts I would dig in a lot and cause problems getting stuck

old, what are the chances old chevy 5 lug rims fit the hub? I got a full set from an S-10 in good shape, might look funny, but anything that helps is good. If I remeber the hubs are 4 bolt =(

I though of duals, then thought of the money it would cost, haha.
Thought of wider tires, then thought of the money it would cost, hahaha

As for digging in with no fluid, that was a concern, probly why i havent done it. I dunno, hoping for a drought this summer, a small one, or just lots of heat and sun so when it does rain it dries up back here.

You say its a 300U right?? If so it has a 6 hole wheel so nope the chev wheels even the 6 hole ones will not fit. BTDT and tried to put chev wheels on a ford once which by the way uses the same size front wheel as the 300U. What I do is just put a set of wider tires on the rims I have. They sort of look a little like balloon tire when you do that but they seem to work well even if they look funny. Also on the back one to keep them from digging in as much lower the tire pressure to around 8-10 PSI and that also helps a good bit. Thats still enouhg pressure to hold it up well and not hurt the tires but makes them a little softer so they will only cut in badly if you start to spin a tire, plus gives a little more traction to boot

Does your 300U have the standard 6-bolt implement pattern? If so, rims are fairly inexpensive and you can get some nice fat balloon tires like I had on my H:

old, my bro can make me some adapter plates. He's got the stuff to do it right and has done it for friends of his who like to do weird tire combos on their cars. They will widen the frontend by about 3-4 inches total I think. I'll have him do that and see where it gets me. I think these wheels are 14", not sure what size the ones on there now are, I think 15's or 16", not sure. If they are, then maybe its not worth messing with because of how it would sit then. I'll check the psi on the tires.

Theres about a 95% chance that the fronts on it will be 16 inch ones or at least thats what the 300U that I fixed up for a friend has on it. When he got it, it had a set of militry tread type tires on the front and he didn't like them so we took rim and tire off and put a set from a ford on it. That size of rim is very common and fits fords, some farmalls, some JDs and even a lot of equipment also

Put duals on it. Or get wider tires.

More surface area on the ground = less compaction. That is one of the many benefits of running duals.
