i have taken the carb.off and apart and cleaned it i think 5 times.each time making sure the float
is set right.it will run for less then a minute only with the choke out all the way and it really is not run just kind of sputtering along.this still has the large fuel tank and the pony gas tank.the shop manual tells me that it should have a D-10 carb.which is an international carb.the only numbers i can find on the carb.are 6212-DB not sure whats what.i have removed and cleaned out the large tank.fuel seems to be clean as the inlet screen is still clean, checked intake bolts and they are tight.then pulled plugs to see how they looked and they were black like soot, all 4 very dry and black, cleaned them up good checked gap.still this thing just sputters, any ideas, please let me know and thanks for any help you can give.

Minn,With your tractor running turn the fuel off and see if the tractor starts runing better when it starts running out of gas and than try restricting the gas going to the carb at a drip just to keep it running, sounds like a carb.problem to me.I had a carb that I never could fix, threw it away, bought a nother used carb had it rebuilt and it worked fine

Check and double check your spark. Sounds more like you have a bad condenrser then a carb problem. If you pull the drian plug from the bottom of the carb if you have a good flow of gas for say 5 minutes check your spark I'll almost bet your not getting a good brite blue spark

Something simple to check, had it happen to me is make sure the float isnt touching the out side of the bowl. If it is when you put the bowl on it will hold it in the closed position and not alow fuel to flow. I had a 300 that had me baffled for a couple of hours that had that problem. Id also check for fuel flow starting at the tanks all the way to the carb, have had sediment bowls pluged, lines pluged. Have you sooked the carb in some good cleaner?
