Thinking of buying an Int. 574 with an 1850 international loader on it. (auction) First question is how long is it from wheel to wheel, front to back, side to side. (wondering what trailer to bring) Second question is will it lift round bales of hay? Last question is it a great tractor or a poor tractor for a hobby farm, and yard work? Thank You all info is appreciated. Troy

My uncle has had ever since I was a kid, very depandable but hard to start in the winter, its diesel. He pulled 3-14's with it.

They are very good tractors. I am not sure about the wheel base. You can check on tractor data.com. Yes it will lift whatever you want to. They have a real good lift in them. It is a good tractor for all kinds of chores, and field work with implements designed for it. It will handle a 3x14 plow almost anywhere. It will fit on a 12 foot trailer.

Hi Troy, Dad bought a 574 diesel new in 1974. Ran it for 6000 hours or so. Very good tractor, easy on fuel and very manuverable with the short wheelbase. Was available in row crop and utility versions (different rear axle setup). I think it was around $7800 new without loader. It was a little loud under load, and the remote hyd levers were hard to reach. I wish we still had the tractor. A neighbor bought a gas 574 (used) and said it was really thirsty on fuel. He only kept it 6-8 months. e-mail is open. Bob

pending how the wheels are set you'll need at least a 7 foot wide trailer deck. an 8 would be better. nice chore tractor especially with the loader. will need rear weight/ballast or implements on all the time to really use the loader.

How about the length of the trailer. I'd prefer my 12 footer its alot stronger and lower. I have a 16 foot trailer that sits higher and the tires arent as nice. Would the 12 foot work for wheel base. Theres room for the loader on the tongue. Troy
