Does anyone know the actual name IH called the red color they used? Or better yet - does anyone have a paint code? I work at NAPA and I want to mix up some paint for my tractors so I want it to be right.

Thanks

Since you work there, there should be no problem finding the Martin Senour/Crossfire numbers. If there is IH 50 is PPG 70093/DuPont 7410, 2150 is PPG 71310/DuPont 96766, should easily cross to MS.

IH 50 until mid-1949, 1102 until 1958, 201 until 1961, 2150 1961-until sometime in the 80's. Case-IH has 2150. Any other premixed paint is a crap shoot (who knows what color it is supposed to be). IH 50 and 2150 can be mixed by the major paint companies, not sure about 1102 and 201. It was all originally called "Harvester Red". Go by the numbers, not the name.

Here's PPG's paint code 71310. I'm sure NAPA can cross-reference this number to Martin Senour's paint code. Here's a picture of a tractor that had Martin Senour's CrossFire paint used on it.
Hal
PS: I didn't paint it.

they used a few different paint codes, the early one was ih50, then i think 1106b, not 100% sure on that one, but seems like ih 2150 is the one everybody is using nowadays.

Rusty Farmall said, "It was called "red rouge".

Red Rouge = Rouge Red or Red Red
