At The back side of notch the prong should be 2 1/4 inches instead of 1 1/4 I hit the wrong key.

This is common on after market prongs. It should 13 1/2 inches total from tip to the stops on the back end of prong. It can not be more than 3 high inches at the rear. It is 4 1/4 inches from tip to the front end of notch. at the back end of notch the prong itself is 1 1/4 inches high. At the end of the tapered part of prong it is 1 1/2 inches to the notch. The grinder is the right tool to fix this with. Just 1/8 of an inch somewhere will keep it from going all the way end. I usually take the grinder to the bottom edge and take a little at a time and try it. You will need to do some grinding no matter how you do this. If cut with a torch you will have to grind it smooth or it will cause trouble from now on.

Mark, Have you tried putting a little pressure on it. My 340 draw bar sometime requires me to back up to a tree to get it to fit in all the way but will come right out after I use it a while. I keep my hitch pockets greased but that also makes them attract dirt. If I were only lacking an inch like You say you are I'd see if a sledge would put them home also look for dirt buildup in the pockets, They are supposed to fit tight. PUTTER

If it is one for the larger hitch on 300/350/400 and so on just shave a half inch off the bottom and it will work fine.If not let me know and I will go to the barn and do a little measuring.

This is for the smaller fast hitch,if you could give me some accurate measurements i would appreciate it.It was made from an company to "fit" the SuperC and lacks about 1 in. from sliding all the way in and the catch dropping in.Thanks

One would have to think that everything fit when it was new. Maybe you need to check for straightness, rust, or dirt.

If everything checks out OK, I would use some modeling clay or window putty to find the point of contact. At that point, get out the grinder or file.

These things are thick a grinder will hardly touch it.I would like some measurements so i can use a acetylene torch to cut off needed amount. This is an aftermarket adap and as i have found out they dont make them perfectly rite.

It may be better to cut or have the metal cut using a plasma cutter. Hal
