Just got my 706 back from a new clutch,TA and MCV pump. It has a whine now in the center section and I can feel a vibration in one of the cooler lines. Mechanic says it will come out of it. Any ideas on what is causing it? I don"t want to hurt anything. New hytran and it is up to full. thanks.

Will since i did not do the T/A job it could be lot of things BUT I CAN TELL YA THIS he done screwed something up . He could have used the wrong gskt. on the MCV to center section and the MCV pump is running to deep in the gear. Could be the pressure relief is bad . Could be this or that Did he rebuild the MCV or did he just call it rebuilt by running a parts cleaning brush over it ,Did he run a pressure check on the MCV ???? did he forget the o/ring between the range transmission and speed tranmission????? Half these socalled repair shops do half a job and charge for a full job and when something goes south they tell ya OPH IT WILL COME OUT OF IT IN TIME , yea when you have to foot the bill a second time. Did he give ya a warranty ???? every T/A job i ever did got atleast TWO YEARS warranty on the whole job and they got warranty papers when the tractor went out the door. in the 19 years that i was fixen tractors never had one come back because it was wright BEFORE IT WENT OUT THE DOOR>

You and that mechanic both know that is BS and for darned sure it is not going to, “Wear in, before it wears out”. He probably figures it is easier to pull the wool over your eyes than it is to spilt that tractor again. :>)

It shouldn't "sing" and that noise is literally screamin' at you that something is wrong.

From the tractor seat, does the noise sound “forward” or does it sound like it is back under the seat? Can you change the sound by moving the steering or does the frequency change when you move the hitch/remotes? If you can change the pitch of the sound, it should lead you to which pump is putting up the noise.

Possible causes are: Plugged filter, wrong gear or wrong gasket on a pump, a split o-ring or leaky gasket in any one of the hydraulic circuits. Since the tractor was just split for repair, you can just about figure where the trouble lies. :>)

Add 2 or 3 more gallons of hydraulic oil. It is likely sucking air. These do tend to do this and the extra oil will not hurt a thing. I run my 666 over full for the same reason.
