lookin at our junked c today, has R and S castings on majority of tractor. that would place it in early production--serial tag is missing. engine was replaced at least once before. the engine serial number starts FCM. has a casting date of O on the block on the distributor side (did not look closely at any other engine casting # as that block is junk). what might this have been off of? i assume FCM would equal farmall c.

noticed an interesting casting just below the platform date code on the edge of the platform near the clutch: "L No. 1" is this anything special or did this occur often?

also there is an MF cast into the touch control lift body. massey have something to do with those hydraulics?

been pretty bored lately had lots of free time today

something is realy messed up as 0 is 1945 and the C wasnt in production till 47 therefore you are misreading something. is a plate on the block beneaththe plugs and in front of the filter base?

maybe looked at wrong sequence of numbers for date code on block. not a big deal. wont be back to look at tractor until the weekend. more curious about the L No 1 and MF cast into the parts.
