i have only about 500 psi when trying to lift .i have IH-10 shop manual. in reading through testing and trouble shooting the shop manual says for testing disconnect all cylinders . are the lines to be capped ? i would think so but the book don't say . my tractor has a block bolted to the housing just in front of the brake pedals with 3 steel lines to the 2 forward valves ( 3 valve system ) . is this a check valve ? this is where i tapped into the system to get my pressure reading with a forward valve actuated . i have a parts manual and so far i haven't found this part . any checks i sould do before tearing into the safety valve and regulator . i bought this tractor last fall and am going over it before painting . all advice appreciated . bill

all you need to do is take off one of the lines to the cylinder and hook it directly to the gauge. When u move the proper valve it will deadhead the pump and give you the max pressure to the gauge. Be careful with these high pressure fluids. 500PSI is awefully low, should be between 1200 and 1350psi I believe.
