Just wondered if anyone else had an experience with a Farmall H R.Rear axle locking up after prolonged outside storage. I've got it up on a ramp on r.side rocking free side thinking side gear on axle just got rusted in place.Tractor's trans. shifts through all gears freely and L.side axle spins freely. I'm trying to get the beast inside barn for in frame o'haul already in progress (torn down-head off pistons out). serial no. is FBH 371163x-1 if this helps.

Yes, sounds to me like you need a manual. It saves a lot of time and aggrevation.

Brake locked up, or axle itself?

I'm pretty sure it's the axle. Awfully solid feeling and the brake has't been applied since I left it where it sit's ,will brake lock up just sitting?

If the axle wasn't locked up when you parked it. I would guess it is the brake. Try taking the brake drum off and see if the wheel turns then. If it has been moved and quit turning while moving there might be something caught between the bull and pinion gears. This will likely require the top deck to come off.
