I have what I believe is a M&W governor on a Farmall 350. When the tractor is accelerated the weights move out and the sleeve bearing moves towards the governor lever but never contacts it to slow down the engine. Would the connecting rod be out of adjustment and if so how could it be out so far or could there be something wrong with the sleeve assembly? I just bought the tractor and don't know what may have been done with the governor.

You need an I-T manual IH-10 on page 49 it expalins just how to adjust it and you will need that info to do it the right way.

You need to get an IT manual it will give pictures and a step by step procedure for this and most other problems you will encounter with your tractor. One cost around 30 dollars, and it is cheap. The one you need is IH-10, it also covers other models as well. You can order them off this site, look to left and click on manuals. They are available from TSC and other farm supply stores. If I tried to explain it you and me both would be confused, somebody else may be able to. Sorry I wasn't more help, but you do need that manual.
