I plan to spray with my 400 this year, how fast is 4th gear? Can you run for long periods of time with the TA pulled back or is it just for hard pulls or slowing down to turn? Would like to run 5 or 6 mph. Thanks, Chris

Using the TA to slow down will ruin the unit eventually. 4th gear in direct drive is fast enough to do what you want. The TA is just for steady pulls such as plowing or other heavy field work. Without a steady pull while the TA is in low the tractor will overrun the unit and cause damage to the roller and ramp set up on the unit. Used properly the TA will last for years, but if you keep using it to slow tractor down and free wheeling it, it will ruin it. Fourth gear will run between 5 and 7 MPH. Again DO NOT USE TA TO SLOW TRACTOR DOWN.
