I know some of you might not belive me but I know why ih didn't have records of farmall a's produced in 1942. Ih actually produced war tanks that year. so no a's were recorded. try wisconsinhistory.org is where i found out.

NO, there were 9,579 A's, B's, BN's, AV's & International A's produced in 1942 and 105 produced in 1943, but "no official production" in 1943 according to Guy Fay's "IH Tractor Data Book".

I'd guess that those 105 were probably assembled out of parts on hand after war production got revved up.

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that the 105 may have been components for Shop Mules. Since they were probably building Shop Mules for the military, and they each got a Farmall A serial number, it seems reasonable. But we have no Shop Mule data available to check this possibility.

It's as good a guess as any other.

I know that a lot of information has been uncovered since Guy Fay put out that book, but I've never seen anything else specifically on this subject.

Maybe, but I don't know if they are identifiable. Since there was "no official production", they may have 1942, or 1944 serial numbers. I don't know any more about it than what I read in Guy Fay's book, and that seems to beg a few questions that aren't answered in the book.

Was that 42 or 43? I knew there weren't any Bs produced at all in 43. I also don't think there were any As produced that year either. This is due to the war effort.
