I have an 806 that has an oil light that will come on whe the tractor has warmed up. It is the one for the hydraulic system, because if I disconnect the sending unit for the engine the light will still come on. The light will only come on with the TA in the forward or direct drive position. If you pull the TA back the light will go off. The light is on regardless of were the clutch pedal is. The light will also go off if the brake pedals are pressed. The hytran level is O.K. Could the filter be plugged or is something out of adjustment?

The 806 has just one oil light for both the engine and the transmission lube. Since the light comes on in the TA forward position and not the rear, you have enough oil leakage in the TA assembly to cause the lube pressure to drop off enough to turn on the light. If this only happens at idle it is not too serious a problem. If it is still on above 1000 RPM, you are probably starving the TA/transmission lube circut.

The reason the light goes off with the brakes being applied is that the 806 uses an open center brake control valve. There is a flow of 3 gallons per minute coming from the steering circut that is used for brakes and TA operation. One gallon of this flow goes to the brakes. When the brakes are applied this one gallon flow is diverted to the brake pistons and so is no longer returning to the sump until the pedals are released. This gives you an additional gallon of fluid for TA and lube circut while the brakes are applied causing the light to go off. Later tractors used a closed center brake valve so that the 3 GPM flow was always available to the TA and lube circuts.

How could this be fixed or where should I look for leakage?

well like Owlen said here . But before i started twisten wrenches i would have to put the gauges to her and do a flow rate of the pump. Now i understand that you do not have the equipment to do this as vary few do other then the dealer . THer also could be leakage in the MCV . Now if infact that it is in the T/A then the only cure is to split the tractor Twice and install a new / rebuilt T/A assy. . Along with that myself since i am into it this far a new clutch assy. would go in and a new MCV pump and a new spring kit in the MCV. Now this job Can be done if ya have the stuff to work with and know how to go about installing a T/A . If you do not feel comforable with doing it then best leave it to the pros.
