This sounds like the cam bushings inside the injecton pump are plum slap wore out , this comes from letting the seal on the lift pump leak fuel into the crakcase of the injection pump. As if you do not know it there is suppose to be engine oil in there and Should be checked each and every day before ya start the tractor and changed with each engine oil change. Many years ago when i bought my first tractor it was a Farmall 450 D and i bought it cheap because first off it would not start on the gas side and when running it was doing what yours is . Well back then i was not to smart on tractors but was a real good car and truck mechanic . Well since i did not know much about it i had what everybody told me was the best I H man come out and listen to mine , first thing out of his mouth was ah she's got a cracked head . Well i was sick back then you could still buy a new head bear for the small price of 790 bucks , that was 3/4 's of what i paid for the tractor . Well i owen the darn thing so guess i'll fix it , pulled the head and set it out to be checked after they got it cleaned up they found a NEW head they amg n fluxed it they pressure checked it then they sent it out to be X rayed and no crackes found but we diud a valve job while it was off . Put it all back together and fired her up and the miss was still there . My buddy also had a 450 D so we pulled his injector and put his injectors in mine his ran like a Singer sewing machine mine still missed . Then we swapped pumps now ine ran like a swiss watch and his missed . Sent my pump out and had it rebuilt . That tractor was and still is my all time favort , should have never sold it it has since been thru two other owners ans it is still running almost 40 years later. So pull the pump find a pump shop that still knows how to work on them and have them rebush and reseal it and add 10% to the fuel and give her + 3 degrees timing and it will be a whole differant tractor.

I think he means crank case of the fuel pump, not the engine crank case. There is suppose to be motor oil in the pump also.

Yes it could very well be a bad injector.
