I noticed the other week that our 806 has an area of the radiator that appears plugged (it is cooler than the rest). That explains why it runs hot only under heavy load. I was wondering if anyone had experience with homemade cleaning methods (vinegar, etc.) in a larger, diesel tractor like our 806. Should I mix it 50/50 with water, or just straight and roughly how long do I keep it in while running the tractor? I am just hoping for a small cooling improvement and wanting to clean the system a little so that if I do get a new one later, it doesn't get plugged up with the garbage left in the system. Thanks.

i just did the cooling system on my h, it was kinda rusty. went to napa, bought some of their radiator cleaner. drain the system, open engine drains too, flush with clean water on a hose till all the rust is out, refill with clean water, add the bottle of cleaner, let tractor run for a half hour, drain stuff out, flush with clean water , then refill with antifreeze. i bought the premix from farm and fleet, if you mix your own, used distilled water so you dont get all the minerals in the system.

Thanks. Yes, we mix distilled water in with our coolant. It was a previous owner that apparently liked to use hard well water in the radiator.
