I have an oportunity to buy 2 iH 454 tractors. I'm looking to find out what they might be worth. One is stock and one has an IH loader. The owner died 10 years ago and neither tractor has been started since then. Both are stored in a barn with dirt floor. Tires are cracked. Gas tank and fuel system has sour gas and appears to have a good coat of rust inside. Engines are not frozen. Break on one tractor is frozen up. All fluids have sat for 10 years and tractors will need at least a good going over if nothing else is wrong. Would anybody have a rough estimate for what to offer for them?

Hi, doubt if foot brake would be seized because they are hydraulic and cannot be locked in brake position. Most likely the parking brake was left on and the parking brake control cable has seized.
Sometimes it can be freed with penetrating oil other times it has to be replaced. Just screws into an actuator shaft on the side of the transmission case. Don't move tractor if parking brake is locked on or you will shred the parking brake band inside the transmission and the bits will get in the hydraulic system.

Googled IH 454 there was a Diesel for sale for $4700 CND.

I'd agree with Janicholson. Maybe even a little less. Those tanks are a bugger to get cleaned out as they have a crossover tube between two divided tanks that is easy to plug. Also, you can't see the other half to see what is all in there. The brakes on these tractors are in the axle housings and are submerged in hydraulic oil, and the rear wheels and axles must be pulled to service them. If they are locked up, it may be costly and time consuming. Check to see if the external linkage is what is actually rusted tight or if the park lock is rusted tight in the on position.

$2000 for the pair. They are probably worth more, but it still contains enough doubt to be risky. JimN
