Well I picked up that 1945 H that I told you guys about. It hadn"t run in over a year. As advertised it started right up but would starve for fuel with any throttle movement. Cleaning the fuel meter tube solved that issue right quick. It runbs way better but it is still not exactly right, which bugs me. I don"t have my H manuals yet so here goes with the questions:

What is the valve adjustment measurement?

Is the 6212-DB carburator the correct carb for an X1, gas motor?

I have changed the oil, but not the plug, points, condensor or wires. That is my next step but I"d still like to adjust the valves. Thanks in advance.

Bob

6212DB is the part number for the bowl. The carburetor number is on a small, round brass tag that is riveted to the top part of the carb in the area of the governor tube attachment, and it really doesn't make any difference what that number is either because more thasn likely the correct internal parts for the gasoline engine have already been installed.

You don't want to see it now. It's uglier than you could possibly imagine. Although, the guy I bought it from through in a perfect grill to go with the mangled one that is on it now. I'm going to paint it this winter. That is as long as it doesn't need to be rebuilt. My wife wants it looking parade quality so she can take to shows and pulls. She said she don't want to pull an ugly tractor. My next project is a Super C. It's all there, the hydraulics and everything, but like the H it hasn't run in forever. The motor is free though. I told the guy I'd pick it up by the end of June. I bought this one from the same guy I bought my M and H from.

The valves adjust at 0.017. I think that is the right carb.

I thought the valve adjustment was the same as the M. Thanks for the reply.
